Horse Riding Blazing Saddles, Queensland, Australia January 7, 2006 |
On January 6, we went on another Quicksilver cruise. I unfortunately did not have time to take any pictures but it was a truly great day of snorkeling at the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef.
On January 7, Chloé, Ryu and myself went horse riding at Blazing Saddles, a nice ranch that I picked mainly because of its name. Their horse riding trails meander through beautiful bushland and rainforest, and it was yet another great experience on this Australian vacation.
The weather was not too good on January 8 so we rented a car and drove up to the mountain retreat of Kuranda Village for a bit of sightseeing and to shop for souvenirs. I bought a nice didgeridoo at Doongal Aboriginal Art, an interesting boat-shaped shop that sells all kinds of aboriginal paintings, boomerangs, musical instruments and other artifacts.
Thus it was that we visited Australia, spending three weeks in this strange and beautiful country located at the opposide side of the earth from where I was born. We flew back to Tokyo on the following day and decided to purchase a new house. But that is a completely different story so see you later mate!
