Eastern Blue-Tongued Lizard
Featherdale Wildlife Park, Australia

In the afternoon, we visited the Featherdale Wildlife Park where Chloé, Ryu and Chiyo held an eastern blue-tongued lizard in their hands. The tongue of this little creature is an amazing bright blue color. These lizards are apparently quite common in Australia because the Schirmers said that they could often see them around their house, and there's even a Blue Tongue Brewery (their beer is quite good actually).

Now you probably noticed that the kids look a bit hot. That's because on January 1st 2006, in Sydney, the temperature went up to 44 degrees celcius. It was really, really HOT!
