Ryu in front of Shinkansen Japan November 19, 2000 |
I don't remember where we took this picture but it may have been Tokyo station. We did not actually ride this shikansen, but it looked so cool that we just had to take a picture in front of it!
The Shinkansen E2 series can go as fast as 275 km/h. The elongated shape of the nose is meant to reduce noise from air resistance, especially when the train enters tunnels. If we had a train like this one in Quebec, we could go from Montreal to Quebec City in about one hour...
