We moved from Japan to Canada in June 1999, and to my surprise it was just as difficult -- if not more -- for me to get used to life in Montreal than it was for the rest of my family. Had the city changed so much during the eight years that I spent in Japan, or was it the other way around?

In any case, a business trip opportunity came up in November 2000 and I was more than glad to go! Yumi and the children left one week before I did to spend as much time as possible with friends and family.

I landed in Narita on Sunday, November 12, 2000.
