We landed at Keahole-Kona airport and took a taxi to the Hilton Waikoloa Village. Our plan was to stay in this luxurious resort for a couple of days in order to relax a bit before moving into a condo for the rest of our stay on Hawaii. By the time we checked out and drove to Kailua-Kona, we had forgotten all about our hectic life in Tokyo.
After a couple of days exploring the area, we decided to go on a half-day cruise to do a bit of snorkeling. The boat took us to Kealakekua Bay, a state marine sanctuary and the site of the historic Captain Cook Monument. We took turns diving and watching the kids.
