The bottom of the stems of large flowers on both sides of the cushion marriage, French knots, follow the curve of the tycoon. Different colors are worked in rows, some more than others, creating what looks like a little ‘how the country. When I started to embroider again, I was not sure about the best way to make French knots. I still can not get them as consistent as I would like, but I will be better. Phillipa kindly taught in her studio in Burford, which I think is the best, most foolproof way to make French knots.
