More piano concerts and musical events!...

Chloé took part in her first piano competition at the École des Jeunes de la Faculté de Musique de l'Université de Montréal. Both Chloé and Ryu played at the first round of the 2003 Spring Competition which took pace on Saturday, May 10.

Ryu played very well once again, this time earning a silver medal. Good job!

Chloé truly impressed the jury with a beautiful performance and became one of eight students to receive a gold medal and qualify for the final round which took place on Sunday night. Being the youngest finalist, she was the first to play. Her first piece, entitled "Smooth Sailing", mesmerized the audience. She concluded her performance with a fun piece entitled "Boogie Woogie Bear".

At the end of the evening, the results were finally announced: Chloé and two other students had received second place awards. She was so happy! The judges told her that they had felt her joy when she played, and that it was very important for a musician to be able to express such feelings through music.
